Hi,
I have some Fox Talas RL 90-130mm forks thinking of changing them, what would be the equivilent to those but in Rockshox ? and would need to have the poploc.
Thanks
Simon.

U- Turn revelations either coil or Air and available with a lockout, Ive got the air version and they are great.0

what is up with the foxes? they almost certainly just need a service and then they'll be as good as new forever.0

Hi,
Whats the difference between the Recon, Revelation and Pike ?
Simon.0 -
Best just to go to the RS site, but in a nutshell:
Pike is a 95-140mm travel, thru axle fork
Revelation a light weight 85-130mm travel QR fork
Recon a cheaper fork: 85-130mm, less options and heavier than the revelation. There is an XC and AM version.0 -
Thanks Supersonic, been reading on the Rockshox site but still didn't make any sense to me looks like I might go with some revelations in white with a poploc.
Spring or air then ? never had spring shocks before so should I stick with air ?

The coil is a bit heavier, but smoother - the air lighter, and infinitely adjustable to your weight. You can get a travel adjustable air version, which is what I'd get if you are used to TALAS. Dual air spring useful too for tuning, then you have the MC damper. Very good fork.0

looking on the Rockshox site at the 426 they do a 100-130 and a 85-130 is the 85-130 only coil and the 100-130 air U turn ?
Simon.0 -
Yep! You can get a none uturn air model with something called 'all travel' which needs a strip to alter travel.0
-
At the moment my Talas are 90-130 which to be honest I rarley use but if I don't get one with adjustable travel I will probably what it
So I need the 426 in 100-130 Air U Turn in white ?

If you can find one in white, yep!0

What about my disc mount, looks different on the Rockshox to the Talas ?0
-
Ah, the Talas is a post mount I take it? Just a case of getting the right adaptors for your caliper: CRC do them cheap. What brake is it?0
-
they are Avid Juicy 7's
looks like I need one of these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=13721
I found these on CRC too http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=131210 -
Thats the ones! Might be able to get cheaper than that though.
You'll definitely need an adaptor for the brake to convert the post mount caliper into an IS caliper - depends on what size rotor you are using.0 -
Found the adapter http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=13721
I will have a look around for the forks.
Thanks Supersonic.

so basically the first link you gave me there non adjustable travel ? aprt from that there the same as the second link and I save £40
Simon.0 -
Yep - and they are lighter too! As I say, you can adjust travel, but involves doing it internally. So if you buy them and dont like the travel, all isnt lost. The external adjuster is handy though ;-)0
-
Hmmm need to decide if i really want the adjustable travel to hand :? the saving pays for the Poploc
Simon.0 -
Make sure you get a poploc adjust - or you wont be able to adjust/set the compression damping. Standard poploc is on/off, adjust is lock/anywhere you want the adjuster.0
-
Do you know who has the poploc kits in stock at a good price, most of the places I've looked are out of stock.0
-
I'll have a look. Remember it is the kit you need, and not just a lever, as the kit replaces a bit of the topcap/damper assembly. To be honest, not sure I'd bother, easy to reach down and turn the dial!0
-
I didn't think I would want the lever but after riding my gf's bike which has a poploc I found it really handy (lazy)0
-
Pity you dont like black, as this is a bargain, poploc ready fitted:

Black might go, the bike is a Trek EX9 (2008) not sure if black forks would suit it ?0
