It's truly annoying.

I got up at 530 yesterday morn to do an audax which took over 7 hours, and I've had just 4.5 hours' sleep and I'm up again. It sucks.

That picture of me in my little icon to the left is very accurate right now.
You just have to ride like you never have to breathe again.

Been there and suffered just as youself.
I used to have the same issues before any early starts
    1/ 0530hr start at work,5 days a week.
2/Getting up to ride a 600k event at 0400hrs at weekends ,driving to event etc .
Solved problem by changing job : Then one day whilst riding an event at some unearthly hour,I ask myself why I was doing it  :?:  . No real answer came to mind  .
I now ride my bike at a sensible hour and ENJOY it . :P :D

    BEWARE OF PEER PRESSURE :!:
    PS I LOOKED FAR WORST.

  • Get ourself some Science in Sport Nocte

Helps your recovery whilst you sleep.

The reason you are struggling to sleep is the recovery process is active
  • The answer is beer! :D
A couple of pints of OP and you'll be rehydrating whilstyou peacefully sleep.
Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.

I find a couple of beers as active rehydration followed by some red wine to aid peaceful recovery sleep - does the job for me.
