fixed bolts

I've been looking at pics of some fixed bikes and notice that a lot are using bolts on the front not quick release. Why is this?

    Because real track bikes have solid axles back and front, no QR. So if you buy hubs in pairs for use on fixed you will have a solid axle.

    My fixed has a QR on the front simply because that is what I had lying around when I built the wheel.

    .........and the reason they have solid rear axle is that you definitely don't want the wheel pulling over on a track bike when you stomp on the pedals, so those track nuts are done up nice and tight, at least on the rear wheel.

    I suppose that the front wheel can't be stolen as easily when parked :twisted:
