Warning do not stick your fingers or thumb in the spinning rotor as it can lead to them getting shorter (not in a good way)

Haha.. i know that the rotors are sharp n when they r spinning fast, its like a blade... I got burn when i tried touching the rotors after riding..
:P Silly Me..0 -
oh, that had to smart0

Why is this specific to Hayes, any rotor will chop off your finger if its spinning fast and you stick it in. Before I taught my lad to maintain his bike, I put it in the workstand, spun the wheel up and stuck a carrot into the rotor just to make sure he understood the danger  . Kids love spinning wheels and the danger's not immediately obvious."Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0

i'm 21 but i get the point. i wasn't deliberatly sticking my finger in the wheel. I was trying to set my brake up on a set of new forks.0

The tale about my lad (who's only 9) was merely to illustrate that you're right and I take the danger seriously. I saw a photo once of someone who'd lost a finger end in just this way."Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0 -

Also, for those of you who haven't realised, knives can also be dangerous, along with guns, fireworks, axes etc."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0 -
