Can anyone recommend a good, up-to-date guide to the very basics of mountain bike maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication regimes?

I found the maintenance extra supplement of the "rough ride guide" to be very useful and up to date:

I use Zinn's "Art of Mountain Bike Maintenance" which is very good, almost too comprehensive in that it covers all sorts of semi obsolete stuff too! Possibly getting a bit dated now though.0

i use zinns as well it is a wonderfull book for beginners and seems daunting at first but once youve had a quick read its really good for any thing else not covered in the book have a look on this forum good and clever people who know everything

I can vouch for zinn's aswell, very clear, good exploded diagrams, lots of detail while remaining simple to understand and good general mechanical tips.0

both are very good books so get them both.0

Matteeboy: it's on special offer for £4.95, so I've bought myself a copy. Looks just the job.
Cheesey: I like the look of this, more so than Zinn.
Thanks all.2007 Trek 8500:
