XL frame size (gt avalanche)

Ive got my eye on a gt avalanche, but its only available in an XL frame, im 5'11, will this frame be too large for me?

    Yes its to large.

    I'm 6.0ft on a Large Avalanche 2.0, i could even have got away with a medium.

    They do them in other sizes you know.

    Make sure you test ride it first anyway, but the XL will be too big for you

    Yeah i know they come in other sizes, but im getting it from the place i work and theres only small or xl left, i might go for the 2006 avalanche 1.0 instead, i know i can get it in all sizes, is it still a good enough bike?

    I think the Gt Avalanche is a decent bike personally, but also look at specialized trek etc :)
