Grease/lube for pedals and cleats

Chaps,

recently fitted my spd pedals, and spd cleats, but have realised I didn't use any lube.

I plan to take them off, and lube them up (phnaar phnaar) before re-fitting.

I was planning on using Vaseline (!) as the lubing agent - good idea?

If not, what should I be looking to use?

    Anti-seize compund is best for this - Park make a bike-specific one. It'll be more resistant to being washed away than grease or vaseline.

    Any grease would do but copper based anti seize is preferred. Look on Ebay for a small tube for a few pounds, it will last you years.
