Try and spray some hairspray under, or coat a thin bladed screw driver in the stuff and get under them. Twist about, move to wear you want, let dry and voilla!
  • I've a (super) loose grip, is hair spray the best way of fixing it? The other one is fine.

If the bar or grip is contaminated with gack or oil, then it needs thoroughly cleaning first. Hairspray works well, spray paint is stronger but more permanent. If the grip has stretched, then could be new grip time.

I use GT85 to hold my grips on!!! Take the grips off and clean inside them by pulling a towel or similar through and do likewise on the bars and spray a little in one end of the grips and spread around with your finger and slide on your bars and leave to dry.

I didn't believe it at first but it does work.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

can you fit bar ends to a bike with gripshift ?
    if so how?
    Cheers Dan

GT85 is a lubricant so it will just make your grips slip. In the past I've used a can of deodorant to get grips on or even just water.

yes, just undo the little bolt that fits then to the bar, and slide them inboard. You'll need to move the actual grips as well of course.

The GT85 thing - bizarrely it works! But I think hairspray is better.

    Supersonic's right, GT85 shouldn't work but it does, don't know how :?
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result
