Are meny seatposts able to take 8mm rails ? as i have a dmr jump seat which has 8mm rails but all the seatpost i have looked at dont mention whether they do or not, i've even check the manufacturer's site and its not mentioned.
Also are these metal shims anygood ?? as its very hard for me to find a seatpost to fit my frame as i need a 30.8 so my choice is limited and so far i have found the x-brand one on crc and the clubroost 3D post, i have seen shims that will go in my frame and allow me to use a 27.2 which seems a very common size among the manufacturers.

i have used 8mm rails in seat post that say they are for 7mm only with no problems.
i have used shims on a few bikes with again no problems, both the alloy and the plastic ones.
the main thing is a good seatpost clamp."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
