Problems with Hone Crankset with Hollowtech BB

I have just got my LBS to fit a hone crank and shimano hollowtech
bottom bracket on my new commuter frame.

Only thing is the cranks don't seem to move freely when trying to
spin them they seem to do a couple of revolutions then stop pretty
suddenly.

Does anybody know if these BB need to be 'broken in' with a few miles
or whether I should be taking it back to my LBS?

Thanks

James

did the LBS face the bb shell as per shimanos requirements?

they should spin free from new. if fitted correctly.

  • Not sure but it certainly doesn't spin freely

    then take it back.

there are 2 things that could be wrong. bb not faced meaning the bearings are missaligned.

or they have over tightened the preload bolt.

have a read on parltools on bb preperation. linky below.

they don't spin that freely when new IME. If they are consistent in their (slow) movement then chances are the fitting is okay, just a bedding in issue.

It's been raised before about HT2 BBs being slow to spin.
