Where to stay in Somerset ?

Looking at spending a week in Somerset sometime in October . Where's a good base for a week of days out on the bike ?

    Don't stay in Wells! Lovely place but not a lot to do in the evenings unfortunately although lots to look at during the day (not much use for you). Try Street, I htink that might be a better bet.

    Actually just try the cider then you won't care where you stop.
    You hear that? He's up there... mewing in the nerve centre of his evil empire. A ground rent increase here, a tax dodge there? he sticks his leg in the air, laughs his cat laugh... and dives back down to grooming his balls!

    Exmoor or anywhere on the coast. Lynmouth is very pleasent, as long as you like hills.

    Agree, Street or Glastonbury are good. I use Avalon Camping or Dragonfly B&B at Glastonbury or the Youth Hostel at Street.
