Finally got a decent bike (Cannondale BB8) got setup Qu's.

Just back from Evans where I got myself a splendid matt black Cannondale Bad Boy 8 through the Ride2Work scheme.
Now apart from being a bit heavy (for an ally framed bike) I was wondering how I'd go about raising the bars. My old Trek 730 Multitrack had a bolt you loosened so you could pull the bars up, this new bike doesn't seem to have a facility like that.
Do I need to buy new parts? If so, what do I ask for?
Managed to re-educate the vans staff on the issue of cable locks too

Ah, the joys of threadless: you need to either invert the stem (if possible) or replace it with one which has more rise.
And from cannondale's less than well designed site, you'll probably need a 1 1/8" stem, if you do needs replace it.

You'd have been better off trying to teach them a bit about customer service. No bike sales person should have let you leave without ensuring the bike was set up for purpose. I'd take it back and get them to sort it.0 -
All sorted, bought one of these from Wiggle and it's a MILLION times nicer to ride now.
Why do so many bike makers assume that everyone is a hardcore, gnarly dude that throws himself off cliffs at the weekend? Even better, why don't the bike makers ship bikes with no handlebar stem, then the shop can measure you up and supply the right one, hardly rocket science and not expensive.

I'm sooooo jealous! I want a BB8 or a BB Rohloff but even though I live in the USA and Cannondales are made in the USA, I'd have to fly to England to buy one. You guys get all the best bikes!Gideon Grey0

We seem to have come to a conclusion on this one, Evans say the bottom bracket needs shimming and the only people they can get the shims from are C/Dale.
Might take a few days but if it sorts the noise out, I'll be happy.0 -
