Hi fella,

Just wanted to know how you are getting on with your Fury? You loving it? What are you planning to upgrade first? Im looking at the shifters at the mo....looking towards Sram X9 ones then a new crank me thinks.....let us know how the journey is going so far!!!! :lol:

    Its all good here,

    Great bike, brilliant off road, very well behaved, not one problem as yet.

    Mines wearing slicks at the moment though....going commuting and all that.

    Ummm, upgrades, not sure, maybe a new wheelset, lighter for the road tyres, might, just might change the BB and throw a hollowtech crankset at it....

    I don't know, to be honest its such a good bike out of the box, i'll probably wait until something breaks.

    Glad your enjoying yours, i would honestly recommend it to anyone, it's a shame there's the brand snobbery sometimes though but lets be honest, if it had Giant or a big S somewhere on it, it'd probably cost £200 more and be hugely popular.

    Sorry to butt in but I totally agree.
    Been on my Fury all this weekend and it's great!!!!
    Use it to go to work during the week too.
    Need to get some thinner tyres. Preferably with yellow walls :wink:

    I took the Fury round Blean Woods yesterday. :D Just makes me wanna push harder & harder. :twisted:
    I also ride a Marin B17 (old full-susser) 8) , and I now understand when people claim that you don't learn so many trail skills on a full-susser. :wink:

    I agree with MIKEITUP. I'm only gonna change what breaks. (soon :wink: )

    As for brand snobbery, I've found that if I leave it covered in mud, then most of the brand-police wouldn't know what make it is anyway, and the hydraulic (not cable :wink: ) brakes would fool 'em into thinking EXPENSIVE. :? :wink:

    Ohno, just realised I'm a brake snob :shock:

    I totally agree with you lot, it rides great! All i have changed so far is the Tyres to a Panaracer XC Pro and i have changed the chain to a PC 991 Sram one... im not going to change anything until it breaks, im enjoying it at the moment and (touch wood) i have had no problems in riding....(no cable stretch or anything) the only snag i have had is the cables rubbing on the frame and forks which has took the paint away but apart from that A1! :lol::wink::lol:

    Just to ask your opinions, but why have most of you changed or wanting to change the Continental Gravity tyres?

    I'm considering a swap too... :wink:

    I find the Gravity's fine in dry 8) , but scary in the mud!!!! :shock:
    Whereas the Bontrager Jones (IIRC) on my full-susser track through mud like it's on rails.

    The gravitys are ok but I need thinner tyres for my daily commute to work.
    Those MTB gravitys are knackering me out!!

    Exactly what i bought!

    Good tyre....fast and puncture protection to boot.

    Don't forget, you'll need smaller inner tubes to go with them, i got two tyres and two new Continental tubes for £32.

    Good tyres for the money and yes you need smaller tubes....Are you contemplating going all Shimano or staying with Sram??? :wink:

    Nah, i might just replace SRAM with SRAM....i like the look of the the X0 stuff, so when the X7's wear i might have a bit of them or their replacement....I really haven't thought about it yet, the technology and the look changes so quickly i find it best to leave it until you need it.

    Thanks for the invite, i'll have a look round it, but i do like it here, if nothing else it'll be somewhere else to bore folks to death....!
