Suggest good upgrades anyone?

Hi,
I have recently got back in the saddle. I purchased a Spesh FSR Xc disc in May, as I didn't want a massive initial outlay without knowing if I would stick with it, but also wanted a good frame that would stand component upgrades. Whilst I am generally pleased with it (Except the brakes which I changed straight away from the stock Hayes sole to Hayes 9's)
Now I a find myself riding more and more off road, I feel the rear shock isn't up to much. Does anyone know of a good direct replacement?

Thanks 8)

We asked Wayne Chapman at Australian Fox Racing Shox importer Dirtworks what Fox options were open to you. (We also asked the guys at the RockShox importer, Monza Imports and are waiting to hear from them.) His first response was that it depended on the model year, so we asked for 06 and 07 options.

    Wayne's response:
    Ok… fun time.

    06 model used a 6.5” x 1.5”.

This is a very common size. Used in most XC frames made.

    07 model used a 7.0” x 1.6”.

This is an odd fruit-loop size. Shock fitted to the bike currently is probably a Specialized labelled X-Fusion manufactured shock. Fox make nothing to specifically fit this bike. However the workshop guys tell me that a 6.5” x 1.5” will work. It will very slightly lower the BB (not really noticeable) and by shortening the eye to eye length by a massive ¼” at each end… the steering will kick out very slightly. (again… not really noticeable)

    Confused yet?

In other words, any Fox Racing Shox rear shock that's available in 6.5in eye-to-eye and 1.5in stroke will fit. The Float R and Float RP23 will therefore fit the bill.

Wayne suggests you contact UK importer Mojo for more info.

    Wow, thanks for that.

    FYI the MY is 07.
I have also noticed that on the FSR XC pro Spesh fit a 'Fox Triad', are these not available off the shelf?

Anyway will look at the options you've suggested.

    Thanks again :D

The Triad was a custom version of the Fox RP3 that was made exclusively for Specialized.

They are not commonly available aftermarket. However from time to time we do get some in for warranty support.

As John sugested, contact Mojo Suspension. They may have one in stock.
