Have I been short changed?

I just bought a new bike. Merida Scultura FLX Team-20 frame, with (what I thought was) a complete Dura Ace groupset and other nice components. All purchased via and assembled by my LBS. The bike has a compact 34/50 chain ring and a 12-27 cassette.

I've just noticed that it has a Ultegra chain. Have I been short changed or doesn't it matter, i.e. no difference in weight/performance/compatability?

Thanks,

If you were told it had the complete Dura Ace groupset then the chain should be Dura ace as well.

Yeah, you've been short changed - you should have bought Campag! :D

Ultrega chain is about 2 quid cheaper, weighs the same and is fully compatible so I don't really see any difference. It'll snap in next to no time, so you can buy yourself a new Dura Ace then....

That's really common for bike makers to do. It looks like a full group, but isn't. I would not worry about it in the least. But get a chain with a quicklink or fit one to your existing chain if you ever take off the chain!
