I went to got to decathlon to get a sport 3 but stopped off at a local bike dealer typical place no room to swing a cat etc..

He had 1 2006 model of the bike above and he said I could have it for ?999 which is about œ670

I was tempted to bite his hand off but I am just concerned that It may be a bit too much for me for a first road bike..

It seems to have pretty top notch gear all around... any thoughts?

  • If it's the right size, that appears to be a serious bargain!

Holy poo, you don't see bargains like that much. Just make sure the components are as stated. Get yourself back down to that shop man. If you think the bike is 'too good' for you, well it is time to make you as good as the bike. Cycle regularly with a smile and just think of the dosh you saved.

Yep defo go it. We know it's a bargain but the shop guy doesn't know you know it's a bargain so when you go back nonchalantly tell him that you've thought about the bike and perhaps you'll take it and it's a little bit more than what you wanted to spend on a bike so maybe he could throw in some bottles or bottles cages or give you a good deal on something, say, a pair of shorts too. The worst he can say is "no" and he's still going to sell you the bike. I see it's in Euros, I wonder if it's in Dublin cos I know there's only one supplier of Fuji's in Dublin.

BTW are you sure it's the same spec as the pic you attached, Dura Ace and Ultegra components? You'll certainly be spoilt riding this for a 1st bike, enjoy the buzz and welcome to the one of the most addictive sports out there.

Make sure it's your size and assembled for you if it's still in the box. The salesman was't blind by any chance [8D]?! And are you sure he wasn't pointing to a postmans bike or even an empty box?!! You did say it was wall to wall in the shop...

In fact I need to see a picture of it in your paw before I believe it!!!!
