Can I swap different tyre sizes?

Thinking of using my road bike for commute. It presently has 700 x 23C tyres on a normal road wheel(Bontrager Race Lites), and I wondered if a 700 x 28C tyre which is on a hybrid bike would fit, or do you need a different size rim?

should do providing it dont foul any part of your frame or brakes. In my opinion i would keep the 23's on till the winter arrives.

Thanks gaterz. It was just the fact that the wider tyres have "Dutch - No Puncture" printed on the side, which seemed attractive, plus I was reading on this forum that someone over 85kg would be running a 23 tyre flat due to his weight.

A 25mm tyre is a good compromise - it has about 30% more air volume, which makes it more comfortable and resistant to punctures - people tend to ride skinny tyres for fashion in the mistaken belief that they are faster. Most road bikes will accept a 25mm whereas few 'race' bikes accept 28mm because of the short-drop calipers and frame clearances.
