I remember this being mentioned, can't find the thread -- anyone got any specific details / experience?

Can't get on to the Tacx forum to ask there -- keep getting sql error.

TIA,

Tim

Yep, the forum is still down this evening; any way i bought a flow and then bought the imagic upgrade (comes with fortius software). Its works fine, you simply swap the head unit, fix the long usb cable to your computer and install the software.
The only word of warning would be that you need a relatively powerful PC. Originally I ran an amd xp2400 with a Gforce 4. This combo stuggled, paricularly when the virtual racing programme is trying to render a lot of competitors and drawing complicated scenery. I built a cheap core2duo system with a ati 9800pro which is much better.

  • Cheers, nom --

thats what I needed to know...

I did want to run it with a Mac mini intel (Core Duo) running XP, but I see you need 128 MB graphics -- anyone got experience of running the S/W on intel integrated video?

It's pretty easy (just ignore the combined speed/cadence sensor that comes with the kit, it's not for the Flow).

I've used a PC with intel integrated graphics and it worked fine if shadows were turned off in VR world. Ditto with my intel laptop. A 256Mb geoforce card in another PC worked without having to do any tweaks.

  • Cheers, McGann...If I have to buy a computer just for it, I,d rather buy one that I can press into service in my real job...

BTW, I¶ïm buying the trainer in Germany, and they¶ïre the same price in Euros here, as they are in pounds over there!!! 405 euros=275 quid for an iMagic!!!

    Cheers,

    Tim

works fine for me (including RLV) on a 2 year old 1.7GHZ Centrino with integrated graphics.
