Chainline out, how do I fix it?

Hi,

My chainline is slightly out I notice and it makes more noise than i'd like. How do I fix it? I can't see spacers for sale any where.

    Does your sprocket have a shoulder? Sometimes works if you turn it round.

    change the BB for one with the correct axle length.

    that's the only real way to do it

    Firstly, depends how far it's out, but because there's not much thread on the rear hub, apart from the sprocket turn-around, there's not much beyond a mm or two that you can change. For bigger discrepencies, you need to look at the chainset - either by varying the BB length or changing the chainring position i.e. inside or outside of the spider if using a double chainset. Some BB's like Miche have adjustable cups on both sides so you can 'tune' the chainline - as long as the non-drive crank clears the chainstay. Finally, you can get small spacer shims for behind the chainrings for the last 0.5mm or so.
