I'm looking to replace my damaged forks and the ones I want all seem to be integrated. Will an integrated fork work with a normal Ahead frame?

Many thanks!

  • Yesa it looks a bit odd that's all.

Look at the Bontrager range as these are for non integrated.

If you shop around you should be able to find some non-integrated ones from the likes of Look, Easton, ITM and Reynolds - amongst others. Integrated forks have a flared crown, so might look odd on steel frame with skinny tubes, for example.

They dont have to look odd.

I put a Columbus Tusk integrated on a frame with 1.125 Ahead headset.

Some headsets flare out more and cover the 'flat' below the crown race on the fork.

I used an FSA orbit headset and it looks fine.

Make sure that your bike isn't 1" ahead first. There are very few 1" integrated forks around, most are 1 1/8th.
