Switched on BBC sport this afternoon. Loh and behold they're playing a repeat of last years mens final.
Did rain stop play? No the women's final was over and done with in 63 minutes.
When will they ever learn- women's Wimbledon, one week. The men's, the next. Then we can see where the interest is.

    The situation would be solved if Anna Kournikova was given maybe a 3-0 head start so she'd be more likely to win. Sort of like a handicap, just to ensure she got through and the final lasted a bit longer.

    Or, to make them play the best of 5 sets instead of best of 3, after all, Wimbledon is paying them the same as the men so they should play as long as the men.

    The women's final should be 5 sets.

    All tennis matches should be the best of 5 - 5 games! get it over and done with as quickly as possible, all done in 15 minutes. Then move onto something less tedious.

    I didn't see the game - but Henin is a great player - amazing backhand; so even with a '5 setter' it was probably going to be 6-1, 6-2, <i>6-2</i>.

    But I don't see any reason why women shouldn't play 5 sets for the greater entertainment value; although some say it's harder handling a 3 setter, because the women haven't got an 'option' of coming back from 2 sets down. Another thing...men and women both playing best of 5 might not fit into two weeks quite so easily...

    Aye, there are some BOBFOCS around in womens tennis, I have to say. But not many BOCFOBs, which is a good thing.
