BUT why do pubs turn the music up soo bloody loud you not only have a hangover (if you are that way inclined - I'm not) yet also a music/din'over ?????????????

This I've found is mostly worse to recover from than excess alcohol in the bloodstream....[V]

Why recover from it? Just keep it up to a comfortable level.....

they do it to try and create atmosphere that isn't there in the first place, also the staff would rather hear music than a room full of shouty weeed-up people constantly repeating themselves.

Have you tried asking them to turn it down? I've found that to work on occassion.

If they turned the msuic down then people would be able to hold conversations, which slows down drinking. Quieter music?! You'll suggesting tables and chairs next!
