Twice in four days, I think, has a car pulled out on me - on both occassions I've been travelling quick not slow and cars have conciously decided to pull away from a junction, eye contact with me was in existance and as I've got the right of way.

They've been on a side road which intersects with the road I'm travelling on and literally they start off/drive in front of me, today I nearly lost control that happened mid-afternoon good light, no rain conditions etc..

Either its luck or drivers simply are not bothered in my local area.

What do people think I do !

I have this all the time. They usually pull out from my right as I'm approaching, but they only pull out slowly, creeping toward me as I pass them, because "oh hes a cyclist its ok I can do this"

How many times have I raced after them only to almost catch them at the red light just turning green :(

Eye contact in Bangkok? Now that would be a novelty! The attitude here is "I am not turning right so I don't have to look right!"

So you have the same as we do, Keith? Cars, motorbikes and cycles coming towards you on your side of the road - certainly makes life interesting!

I particularly like the drivers that think it's okay to drive towards me and then turn right into the same road as I'm turning left into (hope that makes sense).

Rather than wait a couple of seconds until I've made the turn and corrected my line in the road again, they turn at the same time as me and basically nearly knock me off as I am expected to simply turn 90 degrees on the spot and continue without requiring any of the lane that they want.

I am about 2mm wide and can take a left hand turn (90 degree turn) with no

Ooops - forgot to delete that last 'sentence'...

but it seems to be the most interesting bit so I'll leave it for more suggestions. [:D]
