The company claims it is doing this to highlight the plight of the kidney patients and the lack of donors.

Any thoughts?

I think it's a bit messed up and exploitative...it reminds me of 'The Running Man' (The book, not the film) - it's a slippery slope...

Well, maybe I'm wrong and it's being done for nought but the best reasons...maybe.

Actually that is a difficult question!

We used to have to describe it as a "biconvex disc" as we were not allowed "kidney shaped" etc.

I missed this thread before posting one on this subject.

I'm giving the organisers the benefit of the doubt and saying GENIUS[:D]
It had the desired effect and in an age of shock tactics, if that's what it takes.....

I can't verifythis, but one of my colleagues told me of a "Spoof".It was designed to lower virtually all of society's standards and bring out some of the worst stereotyping about race, colour and intelligence.

The plan was that a number of couples would be put into a house, and then the public would select the two "ideal pairs" who would then see who would be the first to conceive a child. The pregnancy and first 5 years would then be followed as part of the "project".

There were still some 15,000 applicants!

If true, then I think it says a lot aboutthe applicants!
