    Well, my Scot's over 50 and still fine. never been resprayed either.

    I was under the impression that an aluminium/carbon mix gave you the best of both worlds. Stiffness in the main triangle and chainstays for effective power transmission and some give in the fork and dropouts for shock absorbtion. I thought that was roughly the idea anyway.

    Scandium is a group 4 element whereas aluminium is in group 13.
    It's like saying an apple is a form of orange.
