couldn't have put it better myself, spire. Chapeau! But, oh seer of Reading, you are never far from my thoughts. I often think of you streaking down the A4155, teeth clenched, cheeks pulled back by the force of the wind, an extra mile an hour gained for every misconception dispelled. We sleep safer in our beds knowing that the scourge of Berkshire's lefties is abroad, pedalling frantically.

By the way, redders, no student of Michaelangelo would have confused the musculature of buttocks with a sphincter - notwithstanding ole' Mickey was fond of both. Allegedly.

I too have met the Reincarnating one. I even introduced him to Spen. What Simon says is indeed true, and having met Mrs L2 I can happily ignore such base canards.

    Top Post!
One reason I am addicted to this place is to experience a much wider range of views and opinions than my own and my family/pals. In fact one of the great features of the internet is that it allows disparate peoples and views to communicate/debate without fisticuffs!
The question here though is about how we respond to those wider/opposing and challenging views. We all have some entrenched views and we all like/need a rant sometimes. Fine as long as we do it without being insulting or offensive. In some posters, being mildly unhinged is endearing, in others it's scary.

I might be missing something here, but why was that post such an epic of mind-blowingly shatteringly shakespearean proportions? Isn't it obvious that a forum contains a wider range of views than a social gathering? Surely isn't that the whole point of a forum?

Bonj, it is possible that the post was reasonably average, however it looked like it was an epic of mind-blowingly shatteringly Shakespearean proportions when it was compared to any of your posts.

Now he has managed to reveal his true identity, I see little point in carrying on with the multiple persona's.

I have noticed that on the forums which he posts using his real name, he is much more civil to the natives!

    Unfair.

As has been demonstrated many times, it is impossible to ban the bloke.

spire - its not unfair at all. You seem to have a rather childish obsession with 'outing' him when most people here recognise that he's part of what makes this Forum a worthwhile place. Like him or not, he's a cyclist, a campaigner and can be extraordinarily funny. That makes up for many sins... I suggest, like CG, that you suck it up...

I was interested to see if he had falsified his addy on as the author of an official governmental website poll. The SS bunch obviously already know who he is by the comments on the petition.

As he is so keen to stay, I would welcome an attempt by him to show more civility. His aggressive ranting only promotes the 'us and them' mentality.

I've only met one person on here (who knows my real name), and if it weren't for tabers dodgy rants I would have long been happy to become known by it.

  • In any event it seems to be a bit of self outing in that rothbook started a thread in Campaign re a Downing Street petition and referred to his post to it signed "Martin Dann." He even supplied the link, so it was pretty clear.
