STI brake reach

The reach from the dropped hand position to the end of my brake leaver is a bit too far. I've got a feeling it cannot be adjusted - tell me it ain't so...

I think this was mentioned a while ago on here somewhere. I think the answer was a "wedge" which can be fitted under the clamps to tilt them forward and thus reduce the reach. I need to find some of these myself so if you find them please mention it again.

I've got a Giant SCR 2.0 with Tiagra shifters. The bike came with 4 shims/wedges (2 small, 2 large) which clip in behind the levers and reduce the reach needed from the drops.

Are these wedges something you could knock up yourself from wood / plastic?

Probably. They are black plastic and have two circular lumps which fit into the levels to hold them in place. If I get the chance I'm photograph them and paste a link.
