london time trial routes

does anyone have any suggestions about where to practice time trialing in or arround central london (brick lane)? I have found this http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=972481 but it is not all that bike friendly.

I am also going to herne hill velodrome, but that isn't quite the same.

Is there an easy searchable databse of courses and maps? the CCT site is a bit hard to use and there don't seem to be any routes close to brick lane.

    If you buy the 2007 CTT handbook (link below) this has a list of all recognised Time Trial courses as well as a full list of all TT events this year. There will be plenty in Essex/Herts which are driving distance from Brick Lane / East London. There are no time trial courses in London itself.

    If you want to practice, I used to live in Hackney and my regular practice routes included
    - Isle of Dogs (a 3 mile loop, fairly traffic free at weekends)
    - Hyde Park (2 mile loop I think, watch out for in-line skaters and joggers though)
    - The Mall/Horseguards/Constitution Hill - closed to traffic on Sundays and early morning you can have it to yourself, plus great views

    cheers, I have tired victoria docks, but it wasn't very inspiring and bad road surface on the southern part of the loop. hyde park has always been gridlock with pedestrians and slow cyclists when I have been there so I don't fancy trying to do 25mph circuits there. will give isle of dogs a go, guess this is what you meant:
