single speed advice.

From all the guides ive read, its clearly important that the front chainwheel and rear align propperly, my dilema however is how to go about this with. guides seem a little vauge.
Need to purchase a new wheel for the frame anyway so solutions for either freehub or freewheel are welcome. spacers seem to be the logical choice but anyone who has actually done this got any recomendations?
EDIT: Also need some form of rigid fork, no need for the extra cost/weight of a sus fork. any recomendations?

As for rigid forks, I have to say I like the look on the On-one Carbon forks, but they're a bit dear at œ150. Maybe just the On-one superlight Steel forks for œ60 or so?
