Okay what about this one , got to thinking being an electrician is there anything on the market like a battery operated pir sensor alarm- wait for it!, THAT ALSO HAS A CAPABILITY TO HAVE ITS SENSATIVITY SET. Thus meaning when fixed under a bike cover to the frame if someone comes towards the bike without getting chance to lift the cover it will already sound causing an alert to passers by. Any answers to this question would be very appreciated. Also any findings of interest by myself will be posted.[?]

• I have a battery PIR system in my shed, set to go off if the code isn't entered after 5 seconds. The only problem is, my shed gets visited now and again by monsters from over the garden fence (aka humongous spiders)which like to crawl over it and cause it to go off.

There are lock son the market that have a mercury tilt switch in them that shriek like a banshee if the bike is moved before the lock can be deactivated by key - maybe that might be of interest?

Hi Neilhead, Is this an alarm for attaching to the bikes where ever and with an adjustment switch on the p.i.r?. We are thinking about the idea of setting it underneath a bike cover so that a person would trigger the alarm before they had chance nto even see what type of bike it was and would draw attention to them selves in a public place. Any idea s cos if so carry on and reply. The more the merryer. I am thinking of something like a battery operated mercury switched alarm with a sensativity switch for the p.i.r. Would be great if something was out there on the market...
• holroyd you mentioned the link didn't work, the url is http://www.ducharmealarmsystems.com/ this fixes onto the bike but works through movement, so wouldn't work how you wanted.

I want the opposite. A small pipe bomb fitted into the seat tube that unless deactivated before removing the bike from my garden (well, let's say my street incase my neighbours get hurt) then it explodes with just enough force to remove the theive's legs.
That'll do it.
