Glentress Wednesday night

I am going to GT on Wed night, probably starting at 6:30ish but could go along a bit later if that suited others.

**Another thought - If people can make it a bit earlier (say 6pm) I would be up for going round the black route, if not can just stick to the red.

Anyone want to come along?

Also, it's Austria v Scotland from Vienna - a vital friendly before June 06's crunch Euro champs qualifier away to the Faroes. Typical of an Old Firm fan to completely ignore the national team, especially now that Uncle Walter has deserted them [;)]

I can. Earliest I can do is 5.45 ish. Up for the black if the weather clears up. Its miserable just now though.

Anyone off tomorrow? Fed up with work so thinking about taking the afternoon off and doing the black in the afternoon and then going round again in the evening.

Already checked with Saz but she is busy[:(]

I was chatting with Moray by email the other night and he expressed an interest in doing the Black at Glentress on Saturday. I'd be up for that, too - but feel myself succumbing to the lergy that seems to be doing the rounds at the moment.

Thats cool Dave, although I doubt I'll be up for the black unless theres a DRAMATIC weather change to be honest.[:)] ( could throw in some black bits at the end though, see if I can clear those steps again!)

Was kind of thinking that might be the way to go, could do the blue bit before Pennels Vennel, up Spooky Wood, maybe do Spooky Wood again and then down a mix of red and black.

I'm planning on doing GT Black on saturday, as I've foolishly agreed (at very short notice!) to do 10UTB. Now, having not done any real mileage on a bike for about a month, I will probably die on the first climb!
So anybody up for a slow GT Black?

Good ride out tonight, AlanK joined us briefly before knackering his cranks[:(].

I managed to ride to the top of Spooky Wood from the bottom car park without stopping (have never tried before) so was rather chuffed with that. Managed to almost buckle my wheel when it went under a tree trunk (didnt take a drop properly) although managed to stay on the bike.

Good news- they aint chewed up and some light and delicate work with a hammer and pair of mole grips has them sorted again.

Fekn hard trying to ride a bike with cranks at only 45 degrees from each other...

Great ride tonight, despite being a wuss. Didn't feel like arguing with " The step" tonight. I just got off and gave it a dirty look on the way past.
Did the XX entry steps twice. And twice failed on the last step! [:(!]

Was not a happy bunny when I thought the XTR cranks were going in the bucket after one ride with a new set of rings.

Turned out to be only slighly chewed up but did take about 30 minutes of whacking my cranks with a large hammer to remove them. probably should have used something soft to protect them from the whacks but too late now.. at least they were able to go back on and seem ok now.

As Hamish says thats all I seem to do these days - that was my first ride out since knackering the bike on my last ride. One of these days will get to ride downhill aswell [;)]
