Recommend me a hardtail ¶œ250-350

I know this kind of post is extremely common and I have searched but I'm still stumped.

Looking for a hardtail for ¶œ250-350 that is decent enough for XC and a little urban stuff.

I've been looking at the Mongoose Tyax elite (stock is low everywhere) or a Dawes XC1.6 - any recommendations or other suggestions?

Also, I'm 5 foot 10 - what size would I need?

The yukon isn't at all bad. I had one before my Avalanche and its a solid little bike. What you would expect from giant a guess.
