i run kmc on the reign and stumpy, as soon as the p7 needs a new chain, i'll fit one to that too.
top notch bit of kit and easily handles my 19 stone pumping through it.

I too am also looking for a new 9sp chain and cassette.
It will be used in conjunction with a Shimano Hone Chainset, LX Front Mech, LX Rear Mech.

I dont have a clue what rear cassette i should get or which amount of teeth it needs.

This is the wheelset im getting just need to pick a cassette and size of rimtape, rimtape i think 19mm is right as the rim is 23mm wide
I was thinking SRAM PG970 9sp cassette in 11-32 along with a SRAM 991 Cross Step chain or SRAM PC 991 9sp chain. ( Not sure about the differences between them )___________________________________________________________

I have a SRAM hollow pin (PC 991) and use it with a shimano drive train.

I've only had one sram chain break on me, it was 3 years old though. Broken no end of shimano chains. Powerlink makes the chain a doddle to fit and remove for cleaning.Intense Socom

If your gonna replace your cassette (which you will have to do if you replace the cahin, else it will slip) you will need to buy a chain whip to fit it.
Can get on on wiggle for like £15.0 -
You don't need to change the cassette because you've changed the chain.Craig Rogers0
