I have been asking loads of questions about Ubuntu recently due to me being a bit computer illiterate. After installing Ubuntu, the highest resolution I can get is 1024*768 and my native resolution is 1440ž900. How the hell do I set it properly?

open /etc/X11/xorg.conf in your favourite text editor. Find the lines that set the resolutions and change them. Restart X (ctrl-alt-backspace).
If you want something more mouse-friendly, Google's waiting.
