I found two cracks in my forks on the underside of the crown this morning. I'm just wondering if it's anything to worry about or whether i should just keep riding on it as usual. Here's a pic of the crack. It's the same on both sides.

I can't see any major cracks from that picture but if you think they could be deep stop using the forks.

    not working :(

Sometimes it overheats. You have to make sure it's in a ventilated place all the time.

Oviously its cause for concern. You could keep riding them atm, but watch out for the crack progressing and getting bigger.
start saving/looking for new forks tho, those are going to be goosed pretty soon.

  • Very common on DJ's.

how the bloody hell did you notice that though?!

they should be alright for a while, but if i was you i would flog them while they are worth something and get some newer ones. 07 DJ3's can be had for about 160-170 quid.

Hmm i doubt anyone would really be interested in a set of DJ's that are on their way out surely?
I'll probably just ride em till they're completely jamed. I noticed it because I'm pretty paranoid about my forks; I've already snapped a set of DJ2 lowers so i give them a check over now and again. Looks like I'll just buy a new frame and forks cause the rear end is twisted on my frame, damn DMR's!

  • Fair enough, don't want to break your face though!

Your dmr is really nice, even though it's not a _particularly_ special build, it just looks "right" if you know what I mean?

Hah yeah true, last time i snapped my forks i bailed pretty badly.
I'll probably get a set of rigids as i ride with one of the DMR riders and he'll be able to sort me a pair of trailblade 2's real cheap.
