Now, is there some unwritten law about cycling along the tow path? Everytime i go along a river you always get some numpty head straight at you on the on the right...now surely you must use the same rules as the road? Keep to the left. IS it just me? Or is there a free for all along the rivers! Another thing is these bleeding walkers who wander about lost in there own world with their ipods on,who never hear you come, then moan when you past them! I don't want to end up in the drink! Or am i just moaning![:(!]

as far as im aware there are no specific rules, only really be courtious. as the towpaths arent really that wide make do but they were designed for towing boats originally, so horses.

Try coaching on a bike at 6 in the morning when everyone wants to use the towpath at different speeds in different directions.

Always remember to pick your Uni according to the local trails or you'll be stuck with nowhere to ride for three years!

  • There may well be, but no one knows about it and no one is going to enforce it. On bridleways, Bikes have priority over horses, and walkers have priority over everyone. But, it usually happens the other way around.
