Truing shouldn't affect the strength of the wheel.

What tyre pressures are you using?

    not working :(

They're not the strongest rim in the world, but they can take quite a bit of abuse. If you're getting them trued constantly then it will stress the spokes more, making the wheel a little weaker.

had mine for 10 months and just put them in to be trued. One has a twist and a flat spot apparently.

Please be gentle, i know nothing.

Yeah, if you get them re-built by hand it'll make them stronger.

I've been running mine for over a year and theyv'e never buckled. And Cedric Gracia uses them on his DH bike so either they're strong or he uses a new set every round

TBH unless you are being really really silly, build is more important than rim. Simple hit the nail on the head, if they're buckling lots get your local wheel builder to rebuild them with good spokes and they should last much better after they've bedded in. He should also re-true them after a couple of weeks because they spokes will need that. I'd recommend some dt revs.

If you have some cash get some Mavic EX721's, mine seem to be indestructable.

    not working :(

    IT DEPENDS ON THE BUILD

grrrrrrrrrr, the strongest rim in the world built unevenly with poor quality spokes will bend and buckle. They are only really stronger wrt flat spots. Get them built properly, if you still knacker them then buy a pair of wheels from merlin, their builds are very good, get EX721 on the best hubs you can afford.

I've had my single tracks for almost a year, and they've remained completely true.
  • I have a single track on the back and a mavic 717 on the front. The sun rim is really good to me, i had it hand built and it is strong as an ox. Its all in the build i have no problems with mine
