Day in two halves. Morning was sunny, hot and dead calm. Did a couple of minor jobs, before coffee, then a ride in the shed before lunch. Was hopeful of a beach swim this arvo but a strong wind put a stop to that plan. Retired to a spot out of much of the breeze and had a deck chair snooze instead.

Well, Stoma nurse visit done. I do like Beth, she's kinda cute. She removed my stitches, gave everything good check over. Alls looking good. Gave me extra sticky rings to give extra seal to try to prevent the itchiness.

Cancer Rehab Occupational Health phone appointment 10 mins after Beth left. Some very good advice.

Now time for a short snooze then off to pharma to collect some drugs.

Oh, and to add annoyance True Speed are laying fiber outside under the pavement. Right under bedroom windows. A right racket. Seem to be using mini digger to pound open the ground. Hope they miss gas/water/electricity mains into the houses that run in the same space.

Oh, and only a 15 minute tea break bang on 10.30. Back at it again. Boom Boom Boom.

    Grrrrr....

    Afternoon,

Busy Monday despite sheltering in the cave. Also every delivery driver in existence chooses the time when Mrs. 666 is out with the hounds to rock up and ask for a photo to prove they delivered. Can't complain too much, one of them was for me.

Now they've had lunch from 12:30-13:30 and then buggered off at 14:00! Alright for some. Day's pay for half a day's work. Cushty!

    Afternoon.

It started nice and sunny, so after I’d cleaned my bike and Mrs W had covered the patchy lawn in grass seed. We went for a walk at the bottom end of Farndale, nice at first but by the time we’d finished it was blowing a gale and freezing.

So all your seed got blown away and what's left got frozen?

Probably as it was frosty last night in to this morning.

Spike the ground very lightly with say a garden fork so that the seed gets trapped in the very shallow holes you create. You need some patience for this.

I would wait until frosts are not imminent as ice will split the seeds prematurely. I would suggest (if you haven't already) a tough variety. However, in summer, you can always collect seed yourself and store it as long as it is dry and the seed comes off the stem easily. Then you will collect variety's common to the locale and the conditions as opposed to seed produced in conditions alien to yours.

You can fill up a tub in a surprisingly short time on a jolly walk adventure with pics and you can store it indefinitely for future use if stored properly. Beans (and thick locals) will tell you i'm mad but he sees no point in most of my actions, i'm just occasional entertainment to him.

This is all well and good but I don’t do any gardening. It’s Mrs W’s domain, I occasionally get called in to lift things or saw things up.
