Another Grand Depart in the UK? Really??? Oh joy........I'd rather they tried for the Giro to be honest, or try to bring a MTB/ CX World Cup to the UK.......

Well it's only a year and a half since they brought a combined Road, MTB, Track and BMX world champs to Glasgow - including para events, so I guess they're well aware of cycling outside of July.

A CX / MTB World Cup race or a Grand Depart? I know which I'd rather. Like it or not CX and and MTB racing is a niche within an already niche sport. I'd like to see a CX World Cup round or even the Worlds in the UK but in terms of profile for the sport it would be tiny compared to the TdF Grand Depart (or even just a stage or two of the Tour).

The Cycling Podcast were suggesting that it would start in Edinburgh before descending the country towards France. They clearly haven't heard that the Rosyth ferry might be back in service.
