    Moaning Folks,

Working from cave. Mrs. 666 has one of her old Beckenham chums over for lunch later so I'll be staying out of the way. The dreaded exercise bike beckons later, followed by a sauna.

    Morning

Yesterdays decision to ride appears to be the right one as it’s absolutely grim here. So what the day ahead holds who knows, might watch some cycling while I still can.

Morning all. Thanks for pinno for starting a post today. Now I'm Home (hurrah) I'm able to get proper sleep and only woke 15 mins ago.

Did get up at sometime in the wee hours for a said wee. All the appliance clocks and wall clock didn't tally. Away for week and I come back to a weird dystopian Dali dream. Not sure how wifey managed that!

Anyway breakfast, coffee, shower, snooze again.

    Laters.

    Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

    FFS.

As if we've not spent enough time dealing with hospitals and doctors and pathology stuff... on the way home yesterday from an appointment for Mr WS I get a random call from someone to tell me my Mum (91 y/o) had been out walking and got bumped over by a car she stepped in front of at an intersection.

Ambulance, Emergency Department for hours, and admission to hospital with a minor fracture in her pelvis, and some bruising and sprains elsewhere.

Great, just what I need! She's ok, should recover reasonably well but will be a lot of stuff to get organised for her to go home again.

A simple life would be nice for a change.

    Fingers crossed for the elderly.

@tlw1 I'd get a Garmin Edge 1030. Only because I've got one and since the newer 1040 & 1050 models have been out I'd have expected prices to dome down to a reasonable level.

It does everything and more that your average cyclist would need.

Swam at lunch today, only 1000m but that was the goal I'd set after skipping swim training for about 4 months or so. I was suprised that my pace hasn't changed much and I'm still within the 70.3 cut off by a comfortable margin.

    Advocate of disc brakes.

Bryton if you want cheap and reliable or wahoo for more money and fairly reliable or garmin for overpriced and lottery on reliability. Yep personally won't touch another one again. Hope your mother recovers OK spinner. Glad photonic is back home and recovering.

Too many bikes according to Mrs O.

You need to drink more on an evening PN - dehydrates you so less need for a nocturnal p1ss. (Btw I usually keep one of those G Shock type watches that syncs with the atomic clock so I always know what the right time is if I wake up in the middle of the night and feel the need to check the time).

Oh she'll be ok, thank you. Hospital for a few days while they sort out the therapist plan for rehab etc. Will be a logistics headache when she does go home though, not sure yet how that's all going to work for a few weeks. She's been up out of bed and moving about a bit on a walker frame at least.
