Thursday taunting a timid Tarantula in a Tutu with tried and tested Teriyaki titbits

Yep. It's cold again.
Might go for Jolly #3 before a pile of wood arrives to which I have very little inclination nor energy to stack but needs must and slaves will be reccruited with promises of chocolate.
First: coffee...

Morning
Well for a change itβs grey. Again it will be train into Dundee to visit the climbing wall this time with grandson who is now on half term holidays. Which is the reason we are up here as daughter dearest is at work and son in law is out propping up the Empire. In Romania of all places.

Hmmmmm....
Still no sign of the Stoma nurse. Unusual as I was her first appointment today. No text or call. I don't have her number nor hospital dept.
Just sat twiddling thumbs. Not sure who's they were but they are a bit putrid now. Must get another, fresher pair.

Why a stoma nurse appt before the operation? My local specialist nurse is all about after effects checks and care etc. Before the pipework is poking out, what will nurse be doing? Apart from a chat.
Lightening up here, patches of blue sky showing. A day of pottering about doing light stuff to come, ended up feeling crackered last night after the volunteering gardens shorter and lighter shift, fell asleep in the chair... The recovery is a slow process.

Yes, this is usual apparently. They want to make sure you're equipped and ready for when you return Home and also to talk about stoma care etc.
At the moment my guts suddenly have gone bad. If I had a Stoma now I could be employed as a muck spreader on a farm! Range of about 5m I'd say!

Second stinker in a row, 33 today, and not at all pleasant. Still hot tonight, windy and a bit of sideways rain. Have been on taxi duty again the last few days. Grrr.
Sold a bike this arvo, the Look KG386 I bought a little while ago. Stripped, cleaned and tuned it up, figured it was too big for me to use anyway, and the knuckle dragger who had it before me had made some weird choices in parts. Crank with 55/46 and a 14-28 cassette, anyone?
Had an interesting chat with joinery bloke after I made it clear I thought his work was good, but slow, and billing me hourly made that unacceptably expensive. 5 hours to hang ONE door? He seemed to think it was fairly reasonable. Dunno where that will end up but I'm unlikely to persist hiring and/or paying for that.
There's other news, not much of it good. Mr WS doing fairly well at least, with repeat scans coming up the next two weeks for another review. But I suspect an old friend in NZ has passed away, and tonight had news from another 35+ years friend he's been diagnosed with quite aggressive prostate cancer. Awaiting assessment for treatment options.
Feckit.

Afternoon All,
Some great examples of stupid from the Kingdom of Far Far Away to keep me occupied. Slightly annoyed that I had to get up in time to make it in for 8am but that's life. Just having a break to scoff some curry for lunch.
Good luck with the lads' tests @tlw1

Stoma nurse been and gone. Very useful. She measured me up and looked at embarrassing creases in my progressively enlarging stomach to ensure stoma was positioned in the best possible place to avoid leaks and discomfort and to not get in way of leg when cycling.
@orraloon mentioned to her you have a lot of leaks. She suggested that your stoma was probably not sighted correctly as yours was emergency surgery. See your stoma nurse for a solution. Maybe different shaped bag, different manufacturer, different adhesive etc.
I probably won't be on the bike for 2 months after barbie-butt surgery as they are taking whole rectum and arsehole away and gluing me up!!! Marvellous. Just Marvellous.

Ah, fair dos Pn69. Difference between pre-planning and retro fixing damage. At least my situation is supposed to be temporary, so I'll just have to pay closer attention of a morning when it appears my small intestine system prefers to expunge its contents pretty fast. Good luck with it all.
Flame heat treatment #2 applied to the greenhouse floor as part of fungal blight eradication programme. Pressure wash and fungicide spraying to follow. Spring is on its way, yes? Still pretty parky here, 'feels like' showing as 2C. So people whinging about 30+ can do one, eh WS π

Evening folks. Busy day it being my Friday. Read the posts and I'm thankful for my health. Just need the BP sorted somehow before it sorts me out. BUPA is next point of call, work pays apart from the tax I'm fleeced for. Hoping they can tell me what I'm doing right or wrong and how to remedy it. Will be dipping in and out of here a little less as mega busy juggling a couple of work projects plus everything else. Glad everyone seems to be recovering one way or another. Hope Mr T,s offspring is ok.
