Thursdays Theatre of Thanos Thanks Theophalos P. Wildebeeste For Supplying Ducks.

Morning.

Still dark behind the curtains

Off with the Witch Sister to visit elderly dying Aunt. I'll have to have lunch with said sister then visit our parents' grave.

I'll try to make it swift.

Laters.

Chilly start and got some reason it's always seems to be a few degrees colder round our house compared to the forecast. Anyhow, on the train into town for another day of the usual. Need to tell the Kingdom of Far Far Away to stop putting 8am calls into our diaries.

    Morning

    Misty after frosty night.

Perhaps the errant scaffolders might turn up.

    Coffee...

    Morning

Frosty start here as well. Not sure what it’s in store for today, might wait and see how warm it gets.

Cold walk with hounds, so treated myself to the heating on in the office rather than the crap oil heater.

tired legs after a 3 hr run with a pal last night, can’t wait for his kids to grow up so we can start earlier

    chilled run with friends later

Nice frosty walk with puppy and wife this morning. Work is looking good, if anyone knows any welders please send them in my direction.

Toastie for lunch while doing holiday admin and a trek into town, shame there isn't a decent shop there as I need (want) some flight deck goggles.

It all depends on how big the job is and how much you're willing to spend. I know some welders - pretty good one's too but to travel all that way would require incentive.

Elderly aunt (87) is now very frail in care home. Still good to see her. Had to buy Witch-sister lunch so went to garden centre cafe where food would be cheap. She seems to have a cold. Great. Hope she didn't spread it to aunt or me.

Anyway it was a nice sunny drive to South Wales and back without incident.

    Evening folks,

Back to shirking from home today, pleasantly quiet thankfully. Did a bit of online shopping and have ordered some brakes for one bike and spokes so I can build up a new set of wheels for another.

Aunt and uncle have both been moved into a home now, old dear is rather upset about the whole thing. I know it's for the best as my uncle is in a really bad way now and they couldn't cope with him at home, they had 2 full time carers and others coming in 4 times a day to help. I really hope I go quickly when the time comes.

No visit by the little Black and White cat to night. Much disappointment after two nights of strokes and purring. Maybe we should have stolen it as daughter dearest stated we were doing when seeing pictures of it in the house.

My folks were similar. Had a carer coming in three times a day and they just about coped as my old man still had his marbles even if a bit deaf so could help with my old dears dementia. Pretty sure it was costing more that having them both in a care home which was going to happen, but then he died and she had to go straight into care home on her own. Although by that time she didn't really get what was going on.

Ironically she always used to say that she never wanted to be like that and could they just 'take me out and shoot me instead' (her words).

My Gran bless her told the SS woman who came to assess her that she knew that she had the onset of dementia and quote. Take me out back and shoot me. She then quoted you wouldn't keep a dog alive with what I'll be like. The only blessing was she went quickly in the end. PS managed to keep her in her bungalow till she was 91. Hard work but we owe it to out parents and grandparents to repay what they did for us when we were young.

My Aunt is fed up being in the home bit she's resigned to it now. She misses her own home but way to frail to go back plus she has terminal cancer. I'd rather go quick than suffer Doing Time in a Maximum Security Twilight Home.
