Inner thigh pain

I took my new Giant TCR advanced pro 0 2025 bike out for its maiden voyage last Sunday. I was pain in the muscles at the top inside of your thighs the ones that almost touch together. I’m not sure they might be called abductor muscles and also at the very top of the back of my thighs on my left leg where it meets your buttocks. I’ve never had this on a bike before. I’ve always ridden an endurance road bike before this is my first out and out race bike. I hadn’t been out on a road bike for about 3 months due to a litany of mechanical issues with my BMC roadmachine 2 so I have been found 50 to 60 mile rides on my mountain bike but obviously with how the UK weather has been over the last few months the rides have been sporadic to say the least. The first ride on the TCR was 77.53 miles long so a fair increase on a new bike with a different geometry and bigger gearing. I checked the saddle height last night using the Hamley method my inseam is 31.5” which when multiplied by 1.09 comes to 34.33” so I measured it from the pedal axle to the top of the saddle as it tells you too and it is pretty much bang on 34.33” saddle is roughly in the middle of rails. Does anybody know what could be causing this pain? I am also finding riding a 52/36 crank very hard after being used to a 46/33. Is it just a case of getting used to it ? Or should I downgrade it to a 50/34 compact? Does anybody have any tips? I would be very grateful. I would go for a professional bike fit but I can’t afford it yet as I spent out buying the bike. Could the saddle be partly to blame as I do find the Giant SL particle flow saddle uncomfortable.

I replied with what I thought be some reasons for your discomfort. However now having read you post in the vaccination booster thread that you’ve dragged up. I have edited it.
So good luck with your quest as most of your posts seem to have a theme that you get a better bike yet you go slower. That says it all.

It's a shame we lost the "Ignore" function.

Think your saddle is too high. I swapped that same saddle out on my new TCR as I also found it uncomfortable. There is a much racier position on the TCR compared to an Endurance bike and riding that distance without previous rides will certainly cause some pain.

I am considering getting rid of my BMC Road machine 2 Force axs 2022 model for a 2024 Giant TCR advanced pro 1 or 0. Ii find the BMC to feel very sluggish compared to previous road bike which was a Giant defy advanced pro 0 with Shimano Ultegra DI2. The BMC feels much harder ont he hills despite lower gearing it has 46/33 crank and a 10-36 cassette. The Giant had compact crank 50/34 and a 11-34 cassette why did that feel faster/easier on the hills than the BMC? so my question is will the Giant TCR advanced pro 1 or the 0 be faster than the BMC road machine which is a endurance bike? would it be quicker on the climbs as well? I would really appreciate any advice, thanks

So threads you have started.
Bike is hard to pedal. Your average speed is getting slower.

Bike is very hard to pedal. Your average speed is getting slower.
New bike sluggish to ride. Your average speed is getting slower.
How much faster. Your average speed is getting slower.
I wonder who’s the one with memory problems.😉

How has muscle pain got anything to do with those other topics I started? It’s totally different. This is about position on the bike and how to get it right so I think your the one who is confused. Just f*ck off and troll someone else.

Maybe cycling is not for you with all your issues. I would suggest tiddlywinks it might lower your anger issues as well.

Anyway, back to the matter at hand. I too have recently purchased a new bike. I have actually lowered the stack by 3 inches and increased the reach by 5 inches. I now seem to be experiencing some mild neck and back pain.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to what may be causing this?

Like I said F*ck off and troll someone else.

Is that your self portrait?

You do seem to have some anger issues. I would suggest going for a ride as a way chilling but you’ll only get up set by your sluggish bike or sore thighs.
You don’t think the anger is a result of missing your Covid booster.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
