Thursday, thunderstruck throat is thoroughly throttling things

Morning folks,
shoot sleep as my chest cavity is trying to eject my lungs for all it’s worth, my throat is rather sore as a result. If I do manage to get them out I’ll give them a good scrub and try to put them back.all rather tedious to say the least. Head is quite irritated by these going’s on and just wants to get some sleep. All rather tedious, but trivial in the great scheme of things. Hopefully it will pass soon.

Sounds unpleasant, hopefully won't last too long. Scrubbed lungs are a big improvement, I've heard.

Evening. Another day of childminding, dog walk and then visit to a park an ice cream. We took the 7yr old as well....

Hopefully you will make it through the day v68
hotel pig based breakfast, lots of meetings and then hopefully take the late teams meeting in the car so I can get home and run with some pals

Morning all.
Bright and frosty and bloomin chilly here! More appointments today. At least its via phone so don't have to venture out for it.
Good luck with the lungs V68.. A good soak in Vanish Oxyaction with maybe a dash of degreaser or some Soda Crystal's might help.
Reinsertion might prove tricky, like folding the product sheet for a box of pills along the original folds.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Morning
Bright and frosty here. Might be a bit too icy for a ride I see how it pans out. We also seem to run out of coffee beans which might cause a first world drama.

Speedy recovery from the manflu, V68.
WFH and not many meetings today, which is good. Will pop out later to stock up on stuff someone have to think about getting supplies for a while after tomorrow's op. More coffee..

Off in a wee while for another check up/over. This time on the altered waste disposal system, which is 'nice'. (Been watching episodes of The Fast Show, from the 90s, doubt they would get made now.) Actually, think it needs a bit of fettling, prob external support rather than opening me up again, I hope 🤞 Gonna be a long road back...
Otherwise this week I shall mowstly be enjoying intermittent spells of sunshiiine 😎 Ooh, suits you...

Hope the old 'muck spreader' checks out ok? Still don't know if that joy is coming my way yet. I'll find out Monday. I roll a lot in my sleep. I guess this can cause real problems if you lie on the bag?
Just had a 45 min conversation with the Onc Rehab Fatigue Team. Very useful, more so that I expected. Apparently I'm doing all the right things and it will get better. Only had a 45 min snoozette this morning and feel ok on it.
Sorted car Tax and extended Broadband for 12 months. Was hoping to get Truespeed fiber installed but they are delayed by up to 2 months and current renewal is Monday so had to go with a 12 month extension with Plusnet. I'd stick with them if they offered FTTP as max speeds are 70Mbps.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Skiing is officialy cancelled now so I just have to sort the insurance out and rebook.
Bought myself nice a toolbox for here at work as I'm sick of trying to do something and can't find the right hammer etc. That should annoy everyone as they just throw tools around like confetti and will ask why they can't have a nice rolling lockable toolbox. Err, well there's your answer...
Final two days of self assessment for MrsHD so Saturday means actually having a life so we'll probably walk the puppy.

Been off sick from work for a couple of days with a similar sounding affliction to veronese68.
Started as a sore throat/tickly cough last Wednesday, come Monday evening I was feeling proper ropey, didn't sleep well Monday night and spent Tuesday and yesterday watching youtube in bed. Was quite nice in a way.
Haven't been on the bike since Thursday and I'm missing it now, might see if I can take a slow ride somewhere on Saturday morning, or maybe on the turbo before work tomorrow.

Afternoon folks,
Rather weary now, but feeling rather more human than I was yesterday which is good. Eventually got the lungs out and gave them a good scrubbing, getting them back in was rather more problematic as PN69 said. Careful folding and then putting them back one at a time got them there eventually. Managed to do a bit of work today, don't want to overdo it of course.
A friend came by for coffee after an appointment at the hospital, he'd manage to give himself a hernia at the site of his stoma scar when he had a cough over Christmas. It would have only been a couple of months old at that point, so fairly recent for a big scar. Go gently when they put you back together 'loon. Fingers crossed you don't need it PN.
Sorry to hear you've had a plague too Prawny, glad you're on the mend. Don't think I'll manage to get on a bike for a couple of days yet, making a cup of tea is exhausting enough for now.
Hope all goes well tomorrow Stevo.

We-ell, sort of ok-ish review with stoma clinic specialist nurse. The abdominal bulge is growing, may be hernia, going to get strapped up with a support thingie. Plus referred to surgeon, that follow up got missed off the to-do list when I was discharged. But fast response after the stoma nurse made some phone calls, I will see the surgeon who did the work week after next.
Re sleeping position, the bag doesn't really bother me, I sleep on either side, toss (no not that one) and turn. Oh and if one does follow my example, do put on a mattress protector, just in case... 😳

Deservedly so.

Glad you’re on the mend V. I find the best way to get the lungs back in is to squish all the air out before folding.
