2024 UK politics - now with Labour in charge

On the Construction side, we are upstream of the actual construction work and it's felt like everyone was holding their breath up until the budget, so not at all surprising to see that drop. We are now very busy, so I would expect some rebound.

Well if this is Labour going for growth they're not very good at it.

Easy to throw stones Stevo, but the Tories were more keen to reduce immigration and increase GDP. What was their solution?

Oh, waits, yes it was to *secretly* increase immigration and blame asylum seekers and students, that was it.

Back to the default 'But, but, nasty tories' defence? Labour are in charge now and they will be judged on their perfomance - as I'm doing above.

I'll take that as confirmation that they didn't have a Scoobie's either.

It's no longer relevant - Labour is in charge now. They've already gone for growth and have managed to reduce it to nil - let's see what wonders they can work on immigration.

You do know WHY Labour are in charge now?
0 -
Because enough idiots voted for them?

With that level of insight and reflection, have you thought of offering your services as a political pundit on TV?

Who were once die hard tories like your good self.😉

Are these the same idiots who voted Tory for the first time in 2019, or different idiots?

I think there must be some parallel universe version of the Tory party that didn't completely shit the bed by making increasingly hysterical statements about controlling immigration while trying to manage inflation by flooding the low-skilled labour market. Really not sure who's the idiot for voting for or against that.

Just asking a question.
Ears burning?

I do agree that they need to pull their fingers out and actually do stuff. Death to the newts.

Hard to tell, but after their first 5 months or so, there must be quite a few people feeling pretty stupid for voting them in.

also brexit, putting up taxes, being corrupt, being anti-citizens' rights, being anti-business, etc.
my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Probably feel as stupid as people that voted for Tories thinking they'd bring down immigration?
0 -
I'm guessing you voted Labour 😉

You appear to be more in denial than Liberace Stevo. Which makes one wonder😉

What, you reckon I'm some sort of leftie double agent? 😀
