Well, clearly not wanted, on some devices. I've registered via my phone browser from home WiFi network, which worked fine, but trying to connect to cyclechat via the desktop fails, says my IP address is blocked... using the same WiFi network and router ISP?

I have logged into Cyclechat, looks like I created an account back in 2018 I think when the forum had a massive downturn, but never really posted.
I'm on there as Dan Lotus.

It's going to take a while for me to sort out how to use it... I guess I'd got really lazy here in that CS had turned into the Anything Goes subforum, and even individual threads sprawled. I swear that Pinno would have happily had everything in one massive thread here; conversely, over on CC, there seem to be a million threads in 50 different subforums.

Even weirder - if I use that link to go to view that thread, the desktop connects and displays it fine, from the Cyclechat.net domain. So why the hell does it block me connecting to their home page I wonder?

I'd ALWAYS just default to the https://forum.bikeradar.com/discussion link, which would show me any new posts on any threads across all of the forums.
I'd just pick and open in a new tab any that caught my attention, or that I have been reading/replying to previously.

That's the way I use it here too. Trouble with CC is more posters, more posts, more to trawl through.

Indeed. Something snapped I think when the Nate Silver thing got silly, though I think it had been brewing for some time for lots of reasons we didn't know about. I hope he's happier away from social media, young family and all.
