Wrong - there's apparently no moderation in the politics section, but you need to have done five posts in the main (cycling) section to get a log-on for the unmoderated bit.

What’s brought this up again? I thought it previously came out of more technical glitches on this site but it seems to have been pretty stable of late. I probably CBA signing up anywhere else. This is the last internet forum I use, they feel very retro these days. I also use Pro Race on here but gave up on all the other sub-forums years ago.

Tried to register and thought someone had stolen my online ID but it turns out I already had a login. Can’t remember ever going on there before! Looks like I’m going to lose my status as the person with most ‘likes’

Ouch! I can’t say it’s come as a shock that it's coming to an end, but I'm surprised that the main site isn't going down with the forum. Surely they'll get even fewer clicks without the forum.
I used to check the homepage before the forum, more to support the site than any particular interest.
I can't see myself registering elsewhere, so goodbye to all of you, it was good while it lasted.

Pity can't tempt you over, even just for the odd photo reportage from Wales. I know you dip in and out of here, but genuinely enjoy your creative shots and musing on photo stuff. Still you'd know where to find us, if you did change your mind... I'd even start a thread in your honour.

Do you need to register separately for the politics sub-forum? I’m logged in and stay logged in on the other subs but it comes up with a login or register bit when I open that section.

Yes, separate log-in, as it's to keep politics out of the cycling section, as well as being unmoderated, so more Cakestop-y. Easy to keep it open in a separate tab.

Have you watched the Gary Neville interview with Jim Ratcliffe? It is genuinely insightful and does give some context to a lot of the decision making that has gone on over the last year (pretty clear Ashworth and Ratcliffe didn't like each other). Have to admit I did think he came across rather better than I thought he would.

Haha, I've been there for 14 years, the forum tells me, but a mere 4.5k posts. There's quite a bit of traffic on the photo section, as evidenced by my likes-farming 24,000 x 👍🏻
