It makes sense for everybody to go to the same place and Cyclechat does have it's own procycling race section....
.......although I noticed a distinct lack of race threads.
So, I won't be joining!🤣🤣🤣

I thought it was ripe for someone to join and educate them in how race threads should be done 😎

Saw the Café thread then read the no politics or religion bit. How are you going to have a good three page argument with that?

Separate to the Cafe thread - looks pretty decent to me

Yes, I saw that. Just think it's a bit ninnyish wanting to banish those topics to a darkened corner. The blue on white graphics are making my eyes hurt but I'm sure I could get used to it. Will probably sign up to give it a go and look out for you lot on the other side.

This might be a natural break for me, tbh.
Will possibly have a new and more demanding job soon and, I don't know, maybe this has run it's course.
Just jumped on that cycle chat one and I was put off by paucity of posts, of which slightly too many were about gender issues. And a certain spen666 (remember him?).
I imagine Brian Moore will be easy to track down and point me in the right direction if the band is getting back together.
Goodbye Brian. Goodbye Stevo. Rest in peace Rick.*

Does this count as Bikeradar flouncing? 😉
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
Just got a YACF ID. The user experience is dreadful. I'm also occasionally active on Cycling UK but their format seems to overly focussed on cycling.
CycleChat has a decent user experience and a structure that would allow for most of the debates on here. Never mind the whether the existing debate is a good match: we bring that with us.

What do you mean by the user experience Malcolm?

To be fair, wherever we end up I'd assumed we would just chat amongst ourselves and refuse to engage with the pre-existing forum members 😉

I’ll be really sorry to see Bike Radar go. I’ve gleaned lots of great advice and info through reading threads and asking questions myself. Haven’t used quite as much recently because generally trying to lessen the time on screen.
Would be great to have a destination where we could all ‘ migrate’ to!

I'm a phone user. The default text size is miniscule. Also, I couldn't find an easy way of navigating amongst the recent posts.

They recommend an app (Tapatalk I think?) but I CBA with that

I thought you said you couldn't be bothered with the extra hours at your age 😁.
Anyway, who are you going to complain to about the standard of new graduates/the world in general? We provide a valuable service!

For a minute I actually thought you meant Brian Moore the ex rugby player. I was thinking "how the f**** he going to know where we've all gone?".

I'm already on Cyclechat. Same username, so see you over there. We can start a Cakestop Immigrants thread...

I’ve just registered on both, mind I might have already been registered on both already. Now I’ve just got to work out who this women is in my living room😂

Not many options, things are falling apart where I am - for my team anyway. At least where I might land I would have more influence over recruiting, so I'd implement a no-snowflake policy and schedule all interviews for 6 pm and see who still wants to turn up.
If we gonto cycle chat, will there be a caption competition?

I've put a thread here:
Yeah, it looks like the politics section will be the one to ruffle a few feathers in.

You are very organised. Have you considered a move into teaching?
1 -
Not quite.

Three of us are also on Bluesky (AFAIK). If you want some sort of SM action, I think it might suit your style, if you don't do the Cycle Chat thing.

Not into S&M, but thanks.

So is anyone going to actually visit Bike Radar after this?
I don't actually find bike tech that interesting any more, because it is just more stuff to charge, or clothing that would make me look like a sausage. And I already know how to fix a puncture so the tech pages are no use.

Dunno. It'll be a bit weird. Will probably try to persuade you punks to join CC, but not sure if there's much point in extending threads for a few more days. I suppose it's no bad thing that the demise is in just a few days time.
It won't be the same over there, but each one of you has a unique viewpoint, all of which I've enjoyed and appreciated... a bit like a large ensemble sitcom, with various catchphrases that help hold the thing together. The odd character departs, and the odd one arrives, but it's not really changed much. I genuinely will miss it, but will do my best to get a grip.

Joined cycle chat on BT's coat tails. Looks like a user friendly set up. Prefer it to this bleak format TBH.
seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
The platform is much better, TBH. The clientele is, shall we say, rather more mixed, ditto the quality of arguments.
If @masjer, @Pross, @pblakeney and @rjsterry were to join, we'd need to set up a thread within the photo section where we can discuss the finer points of photography - let's just say that the quality of photography on other threads there is 'variable'.

Haha, just looking at CC threads, they seem to have a separate thread for just about everything under the sun, in different places in the forum. That'll take some navigating/getting used to for an old dog.
Still, good news, there's one ready-made for @Stevo_666

I see you have to request a separate log-on for the politics section... I'm guessing that it needs more moderating than CS has had lately (i.e. zero)

Possibly I'll see you over there folks.
