Suggestions for lighter alloy wheels than Shimano R500

I have the Shimano on my carbon BMC Teammachine and noticed that they are on the heavier side. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Hoping not to spend too much so I’ll likely hit the used maker for a set.

You can usually find Mavic Ksyriums, Campagnolo Zonda/Fulcrum 3s commonly and for reasonable prices 2nd hand. These will probably be 3-400g lighter than the R500s, won't make a massive difference performance wise but will probably feel nicer. IF looking at 2nd hand Mavics be sure they are in good condition - the nipples tend to corrode and snap and it's not so easy to source the parts to repair them.0

As above with Kyseriums and yup, v good advice re nipples..
The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

OP is in the US, so not sure they could get hold of Cero Wheels.
What are the Shimano, circa 1800g I guess? You could probably pick up something 2-300g heavier as suggested but it won't make a huge difference. Personally I would use what you have and if you really get into cycling, you can save up and get a new set of alu clinchers, probably something a fair bit stiffer and sub 1500g if weight is important to you.

Thank you! I just saw a set of the aforementioned Mavic for sale locally and yes the nipples look a bit questionable.
I also have a set of old Jalco Dynamics 270 circa 2008. They’re in fair Cindy but I’m not sure how those stack up against the R500? They do feel lighter though.0 -
Can I ask what differences you are expecting by fitting 'lighter' wheels..?0
