    Morning.

Off to South Stack Cliffs this morning to see if we can see a puffin or two ...you've got to a see a puffin or two (sang to the tune of pick a pocket or two)

Then off to the beach to build some sand castles and such like.

Morning. Quad biking and karting this morning with both sons and a couple of their mates as birthday treat for myself and young oxo from eldest lad. OH dragged me to the pub last night, doesn't happen very often. Most enjoyable evening although a little warm. Another scorched from the looks of things. Just walked the dog and couldn't hear a strange noise, looked up and spotted an early rising hot air balloon.

    Doesn't look like it's rising.

    I'd call 999 if I was you

That sounds excellent. Though North Wales with no rain sounds weird.

Coffee in the garden (pic of coffee below to rile up Pinno on this beautiful Sunday morning) Ride to MiL's for belated birthday lunch while they drive. Probably pop the bike in the boot on the way home.

    ?

    I like coffee.

    Off to Consett today.
"Phileas Fogg, authentic snacks made in Medomsley Road, Consett". Remember that? Do I go and see this Medomsley Rd for the hellovit?
So many rools in this here Engerland.
    No swimming
    No Paddling
    Strictly Angler access only
"Entering the cold water is dangerous" We could have that for any Loch in Scotland but they must all be a bit soft.
    Yada yada yada yada.

Will stay in Jockland next time.
Kielder next week, which should be good.

Spent yesterday helping old mate build some timber screening around the new deck on their shack. Today not too bad, bit of a chilly breeze first up, walked the dog (slowly) with OH, coffee and then fiddled about with a few bikes, cleaning the dust off mainly. Cleaned and lubed chain on the trainer bike, was getting a bit noisy.

Did another ride on trainer app. Some of those are quite good.

Ah different hemispheres. A cooling breeze would be a nice to have. Almost sorted for ride, early 😊, for me. 24 and rising. Forecast is 32 early pm. Do Not Forget the bottles else no tooting. Got dehydrated yesterday it turned out, only a short and easy pootle, followed by several beers etc but nothing came out until 10pm 🤔

@pinno I'm sure you had a moan about folk posting cups of coffee a while ago. Which inevitably led to several pictures of coffee, seeing as we're all a bit juvenile. :)

    Anyway, keep enjoying your hols!

    Ciao

utterly glorious here. Hound walked, now eating omlette in the sun with coffee whilst bambina does bambina stuff.

think its gonna be an all dayer and may well get a bit slowwww but fine by me so long as Bambina is happy, hanging with her mates and out in the sun.

    Morning folks,
Traditional slow start is being enjoyed, scorchio is good. Off to the old dear's later. Well done on keeping the coffee upright H³, and yes, the curmudgeon did moan about pictures of coffee.
Have a good day Oxo, sounds like fun. Glad you had a good day Spinner, hope things go as well as possible tomorrow. Piña, I suspect the Phileas Fogg place will be an industrial estate and not worth a look.
    Onwards to coffee...

    I love this weather 😎

Though I do need to do a long run and we are going to the pub for lunch before we all leave the campsite - the run could be a casualty

Horrid dilemma of how far do I want to try and cycle in the midday sun with ~1.5l of fluid, when there's plenty of weather stations reporting approx 30C already between Southampton and Petersfield.

@elbowloh If you've never done it before and you have access to a bike, do a "family trip" to Blaenau Ffestiniog and get thyself up the Stwlan Dam private road, it's a stunning climb.

66-ish km done early-ish. Was getting properly warm towards the end. Longest ride of the year for me, doing a charity thing in aid of Macmillan cancer - 250km in two weeks. This morning took me up to 174km since last Sunday so doing ok. Sainsbury’s in a minute then SFA planned for the rest of the day. Snooze maybe.

Did approx 35 km to MiL's. Did the scenic route, wimbledon, Earlsfield, battersea rise, battersea park, Chelsea Bridge, grosvenor Rd/millbank to Parliament. Then vicky embankment, blackfriars, mansion House, fenchurch Street. Then the less scenic bit - Whitechapel road to Bow, up and over the flyover into Stratford, past the big Westfield, then Maryland, and the drag up to Leytonstone.

Was bloody hot mind you, which seemed to bring out the skimpiest attire, some good, some bad.

Definitely putting bike in boot on homeward leg.

I only had 1.75L which was just enough for 22 miles on the MTB. Might've topped up at a pub en route

Ole ole, ole ole, feeling hot hot hot again. Lesson learned: why I put the grippier tyre on the front for the big gravel runs. Ok, so today had a c. 20km tarmac loop before going off road, the slicker tyre runs so much easier on the tarmac. Then 1,2,3 front wheel grab slips, 4th = off. Rel slow and grassy hit so no damage to person or bike other than mindset. Felt twitchy as xxxx all the rest of the day.

Pub stop in last village for a refresh. Pal there with family post their ride, nice chat, extra drinks so now fully rehydrated. Barbie beckons.

Bloody hot in north Wales, 33 degrees according to the car. Was similar yesterday.
Went for a ride up a couple of hills, plus the smaller hills in between. First ride for a few weeks and was nice just a bit hot.

Unfortunately the good weather's brought an infestation of people from the cities trashing the place

Tan lines are now fully compliant with the "rules", but on one side only
Perils of a north-south out and back ride I guess.

Managed to walk hounds early enough not to roast them. Then spent a lot of today talking to surveyor friends about the report on the house. Likely to come down to cost and negotiations but will need to get some specialists in to assess properly and cost it up first. Sellers won't be too happy as they will see what's coming, but that's life...

May got for a run later once its cooled off a bit.

Gentle traffic free pootle to Ferring/Goring beach. Easy free parking, hardly a soul about. Crabbing, Paddling, ball games, sunbathing and picnic. Heaven.

Heat has been unbearable here this afternoon, decided to wait until this evening for any sort of ride, so instead been guzzling litres of fluid while watching F1 and now the final ~40Km of TDF.

I sometimes wonder. To be fair, they do have their hands full with a severely disabled (adult) daughter. But what sort of ****wit builds up the ground level around the house so that it's above the level of the damp course?

ach, you can't blame them IF they have taken architect's, builder's and surveyors advice and been done over, but if they have done it themselves ignoring same said advice then yes, they are buffoons.
